Dark Archive

I've got a pretty specific character idea in mind for PFS, and i just need a little help working it out.

I'm currently looking at one of 2 stat blocks.
Str 10
Dex 14
Con 10
Int 18 or 16
Wis 12 or 14
Cha 14

Is there a good reason to favor one over the other, and is there a way to make Medicine key off Int instead of Wis?

Assurance in Medicine through a Background, Medic dedication at level 2. You can even dump WIS if you need higher stats elsewhere.

I would make them a ranged attacker, maybe up STR a little for a better armor. And put DEX at 16.

INT has to be 18 and Additional Lore feats are your friends.

Why put 14 in CHA?

I thought it'd be useful for a skill monkey to have a little better Cha.

So how about this
Str 12
Dex 16
Con 10
Int 18
Wis 10
Cha 12

And then just lean hard into medic and medicine skill feats, and go bow.

Hmmm, I can satisfy the medic dedication at lvl 4, would archer dedication at 6 be a good choice?

I'm not sure if putting a point in Strength just to avoid a minor armor check penalty will really be worth it, when you could instead be putting that point in Constitution for HP, Wisdom for Will/Perception/other uses of Medicine, or Charisma for its skills. (I'd strongly recommend at least a bit more Wisdom if you really want to do medicine, assurance is very nice in a static-DC world but there may be times you'll want that extra point for it or its other uses. Depends on your character's personality, of course.)

Archer gets you crit specialization, but unless you're super into one of the follow-up feats I'd suggest you pick up some more Investigator feats instead.
