What flags should we be looking to use?

I don't think I'll do so myself (despite already having a post I liked be eaten because it was a response to Verdyn talking about, I think, Shadowrun for half a page), but the closest is probably "Breaks other guidelines".

Archer is a nice archetype, I'd happily grab it for a caster that fits the aesthetics. I think I grabbed Monk Dedication on a Wizard for a theoretical port of a 5E character, though the "Muscle Wizard" might also prefer Wizard-on-Monk depending on how he'd want to flavor things. A character I have who's inspired by FFVI's Terra would probably be a Sorcerer with weapon feats from Fighter or Duelist. And a Mauler Druid with a slightly buffed Verdant Weapon could be fun. I haven't actually played a caster in my 2 games of PF2 yet, so I can't speak from experience.

I have removed quite a large number of posts and quoted content for such a short thread. Do not engage or quote posts. Flag posts that are off topic or argumentative and move on without quoting to avoid having your post removed as well.

At levels 1-4 casters with weapons are nice, with the right ability scores you can be only a single point behind a martial in accuracy, you can even cast magic weapon to be really good for a fight.

Then the martials get to expert proficiency, monster ACs go up accordingly, magic weapon is no longer actually good and there's never another spell that gives nearly the same boost, your AC isn't good enough for anything dangerous to ever miss.
And now you're probably better off just moving further away from the enemy, using metamagic or even casting shield rather than flailing inaccurately at an enemy for unimpressive amounts of damage.
