My eldritch knight gets many critical hits and will probably soon be using named bullet often.
The party sometimes meets elementals and I wondered if there were any spells that are very good against them because I cant critical hit them. And we have not met any incorporeals or oozes yet, but if we do are there any spells very good against them?
I have 5th level spells.
The dismissal spell is one way of dealing with elementals. They tend not to have amazing will saves.
Having blasting spells of at least 2 elemental damage types is another. Elementals are only immune to one element each. Ideally these should be touch attacks like scorching ray. This also works on oozes.
To deal with incorporeal creatures you likely want force damage. If you have caster level 10+ then battering blast works well. Magic missile is a fallback option.
Or as an eldritch knight you can just buff up and hack away, crits aren't everything.
If we are on fire plane dismissal does not work on fire elemental?
I have trait that make caster level 11 so thank you for battering blast.
Yeah, if you're on the native plane of a given elemental then dismissal won't work on them.
