Magus fun ideas

Homebrew and House Rules

I was thinking about the Magus class and my personal idea how I would do it and just fept like disussing it if anyone's interested.

My idea was that the Magus worked roughly the same way except it doesnt have spell strike. Instead when the Magus casts a spell it gains the energized (rename as appropriate) condition which gives the Magus a status bonus to damage on their strikes equal to the spell level of the spell used.

They would then have a energized strikes (flashy martial strikes that also have riders such as forced movement, ongoing damage or Teleportation) which would spend the energized condition.

Obviously we canbe pretty certain that idea is nothing like what they will have likely gone for, but do you think a class setup like that could have worked for pathfinder 2e?

I would say "Why not both?"

Casting a levelled spell to energize yourself means you will be less likely to spam spellstrike as to keep the buff up. Its a mechanic similar to panache that i would like to see.

I kind of thought mechanically having a class that pinballs between might and magic would be easier to balance than one that does both at once.
