Champion Blade Ally and Herolab Online

Looking at the wording for Blade ally it seems to me that the Champion has the choice of weapon and which of the runes they can apply (due to alignment) to the weapon each day during daily preparation.

However, using HeroLab online the implementation seems to be that the champion chooses one rune and can change which weapon it is on each day during daily preparations.

Which of these is the proper implementation according to RAW?

During your daily preparations you can choose one weapon.

That weapon will become the vessel of the divine ally.

Then you choose which rune you want to apply on it.

Everything remains until your next daily preparations, when you return to the first step.

Thank you, that is how I understood it. Herolabs implementation confused me.
