Hi all!
I'm going to be starting a Mummy's Mask campaign with 3 others, and after their builds were planned out I realised my initial offering was pretty defunct. I need to bring Divine Spell casting and some sort of ranged damage, so I think I'm going to go with a Warpriest Sling build.
I was considering dipping a level of Fighter so I can get Precise Shot at level 1 but I don't think it's worthwhile to lose the progression of Spells/class features.
Halfling Arsenal Chaplain Warpriest
Traits: Fate's Favoured (plus something else, likely reactionary)
Stats: 13/18/14/12/13/13 (Stats are 16 down to 11, +1 STR at 4, +1 DEX at 8 & 12, +1 WIS at 16)
Feats:
1 - Point Blank Shot, Weapon Focus (Sling)
3 - Startoss Shower, Startoss Comet
5 - Slipslinger Style (switch over to a slingstaff here)
6 - Weapon Style Mastery
7 - Rapid Shot
9 - Clustered Shots, Weapon Specialisation
I think I can get away without taking Rapid Shot until I'm getting towards my iterative attack at 8 and just rely on taking an attack at 2 separate targets using Startoss Comet (downside being I can't funnel damage, but advantage being not taking the -2 to hit from Rapid Shot).
The plan is to stack flat damage (Slipslinger & Startoss Shower styles, Weapon Specialisation, Divine Favour, Weapon Training, Gloves of Dueling, Trained Throw etc) and go from there. Obviously it's a bit of a pain spending a swift action to activate my styles when I also want to be fervor buffing myself - but such is life for a less optimal weapon choice.
I also intend to buy some Boulder Bullets and pair with Vital Strike for some burst, but that can wait until later down the line.

First, while getting precise shot at level 1 isn't essential you're going to need it some time.
Startoss shower & comet have startoss style as a prereq.
And yes you're right about swift action congestion being a problem. If it takes to round 3 to have both styles and a single buff up you have an obvious problem. Drop slipslinger and get deadly aim maybe?

Absolutely right, I meant Startoss Style not Shower - that's not worth picking up until I have the BaB to support it.
As for Slipslinger, it's only advantage is a longer range and better crit multi really. I could drop that and the Mastery feat to pick up Large Target and Deadly Aim to start chunking up my flat damage.
