Sunbeam Spell - Ray?

Are the "Beams" produced by Sunbeam just ray's, or are the more like a line breath weapon, passing through everything between you and the 60 ft range of the the spell?

the answer is in the "area" description which is listed as a line, so like the line breath weapon, it hits everything in its path.

Spells without an attack roll are never rays.

Searing light is the ray version, sunburst the wide area burst, sunbeam is as it says a line.
