Projectile launcher

Is projectile launcher considered a simple weapon? Reason I ask is for the level 9 breakthrough that allows me to pick a single level 1 modification.

Hmmm... Good question. It's an unarmed attack to my knowledge, which are simple for proficiency reasons, but not considered weapons.

If they are unarmed attacks, RAW would be no, it's not a weapon, but I kinda assume the intent is to allow any weapon mod that is applicable to a ranged weapon
