Some Eidolon stuff

Rules Discussion

Hi all,

I know that summoner ( as well as magus ) is still work in progress, but I'd like to discuss about some mechanics regards the Eidolon.

Eidolon and Equipment

Quote:

While your eidolon can’t wear or use magic items

except for companion items that specifically mention
that they work for eidolons, their connection to you
means they benefit from certain items once you invest
in those items

- Is there currently any specific item for eidolons ( couldn't find anything but general companion stuff, like barding or magic items )?

- While an Eidolon can't use or wear any magic item, what about Alchemical items? Would an Eidolon being able to carry and drink an elixir?

Shared bonuses

Quote:

Your eidolon is no mere minion; the two of you share

the same life force and work together as equals. You and
your eidolon share your actions, your Hit Points, and
your multiple attack penalty. Each round, you can use any
of your actions and reaction for yourself or your eidolon.
Damage taken by either you or the eidolon reduces your
Hit Points, while healing either of you restores your Hit
Points. If you or your eidolon is affected by anything that
would change a creature’s actions, it affects your shared
actions. In any case, if you are both subject to the same
effect, you take the effects only once (applying the worse
effect, if applicable).

For what concerns any kind of bonus a summoner/eidolon might separately get from:

- Drinking an elixir/potion ( Drakeheart mutagen, Mistform elixir, Bestial mutagen, etc... )
- Being the target of a single target spell ( haste/heroism, for example ).
- Being under the effect of a friendly or enemy aura ( For example, the marshal aura or a xulgath stench aura ).
- Speed bonuses ( Summoner feats, Eidolon Feats, Magic, etc... )
- Etc...

would either the summoner and the eidolon get the bonuses or not? Or depends under specific circumstances? If so, please feel free to provide examples of how to recognize what works in a specific way and what doesn't.

Transmogrify and True Transmogrification

When you swap in and out some evolution feats, would you be allowed to select a new outcome for what concerns feats which give you a choice?

For example:

- Unarmed Evolution
- Magical Evolution
- Greater Magical Evolution
- Ranged Ecolution
- Etc...

or will you be tied to your old choice?

...

Guess that's all for now ( sorry if some of those have already been answered, but I couldn't find anything ).

Best to post this in the playtest discussion.

Isn't the playtest over and the forum currently locked?

Horizon Hunters

Oh I didn't realize that was locked. I thought they would allow people to continue discussion there until the books came out, it only makes sense since they aren't actual rules yet.
