Witch Hex Cantrips

First time poster and new to PE2, so please be gentle. Basic question is this... as a witch, can you "learn" new hex cantrips? I see that "spells" are able to be learned if you get a scroll and have your familiar consume it. So, if hex cantrips are a spell... could you have your familiar consume a scroll of a hex cantrip (assuming you could obtain one)?

As for your question, you can't learn them in that way. To my knowledge, so far, witches can only learn one hex cantrip from their patron.

Basically, what you're describing with familiars and scrolls is the Learn a Spell activity, which specifies you can learn a spell from your tradition's spell list. Focus spells like hexes, however, are not on any of the four spell lists. Instead, focus spells are special powers that work much like spells, expect that they are only granted to specific classes through feats and features. I hope this helps.

Yes, currently no official way to get additional or replacement hex cantrips.

Until we do get some official ones, it shouldn't be too hard to houserule in a feat or archetype to do it. Of course, being a houserule, it comes with all the problems of houserules.

Thank you all for the feedback and the advice on where to post in the future. I'm realizing that the devil is in the details in the rule language. I hadn't specifically picked up on the language "from your tradition's spell list" in the learn a spell action... pretty key. I did notice that they weren't on a spell list, so I was confused as to which tradition they would fall into, but I thought because they were only for the Witch maybe that was why I wasn't seeing them on the tradition listing. All very appreciated!
