Bayonets and bashing

Gunslinger Class

The sword-and-pistol style is spectacular, no question, but I'd like to play a drifter who uses a two-handed gun as both ranged and melee weapon. Rules for bayonets or bashing with a rifle butt would be welcome.

The page for the Guns and Gears book mentioned Gunblades.

So I can assume they're probably planning for bayonet and bashing options. I'd guess that a bayonet would effectively be a d6 simple weapon on a 2-handed gun (which balances for effectively dual-wielding with what is at least a d8 ranged weapon).

That said, shooting and striking with the same weapon instead of having to dual-wield really appeals to me.

These will definitely be in the final release. We had to cut what we had right before the playtest to make some backend adjustments so I don't know if we'll get a version of those rules up within the playtest window, but it won't be ignored by the time we finalize the book for publication.

Excellent! I figured there would be something, but since I didn't see it mentioned anywhere I thought it bore mentioning. Thank you for the explanation!
