Periapt of Foul Rotting on a Paladin

Hello everyone,
Actually i'am the master of a group that found a Periapt of Foul Rotting, but they think that it's a a Periapt of Wound Closure.
Probably the Paladin of the group will wear it.
So my question is: the Paladin will get the curse and will get the Dex, Cos and Cha damage? or he will not take this damage but cannot remove the Periapt?

I personally would rule it does nothing to the Paladin since they're immune to magic diseases. He wouldn't be able to remove it and free up his neck slot though. Though at that point, he could just break it.

I'm pretty sure that the Dex/Con/Cha drain is a disease, so he would be immune to that. I would imagine that the curse portion is to remove the periapt from your neck.
