Back to the OP's original point, it's totally okay not to enjoy Pathfinder 1e. It's not for everyone.
Personally? I love it. But not everyone does and that's okay. There's lot of little fiddly bits and that can either be a big selling point or headache depending on the person.
You might want to see if your group wants to try PF2e sometime. It's a very good game, has a lot of (but not all) of the PF1e flavor but is a lot simpler, intuitive, and streamlined compared to 1e.
I don't think it's a "better" system, but it might be more fun for you and your group.
