Finding Online Games

Pathfinder Society

Horizon Hunters

Hey there everyone! So I played my first Society game the other day, and I had a ton of fun! However, I'm having trouble finding new games. I've looked on Warhorn, which is what I used to sign up for my last game, and in-person games don't really work for the whole pandemic situation. As such, what are some other alternatives to Warhorn to help find online Society games?

Welcome to Society! Glad you had fun!

Warhorn is the best. Checking for events here on Paizo is probably second best, but there's a big gap between the two.

Since Warhorn is the go-to, I would just recommend searching for games a few weeks out, since they fill up so quickly.

Which can be tough if your schedule fluctuates a lot.

It might be worth checking in with your local lodge about whether games on Warhorn are actually in person or online. Some that are listed with a physical location may actually be online events serving a particular lodge.

There are a ton of online games on Warhorn. Just search for "Online" or "Roll20".

There are 511 games being offered between now and December 19th ^_^

It's fairly common for people to play outside of their local area now.

Just, of course, check the Event's description first. Some have a preference for local players.

While the preference is nice to know, if a game has offered publicly, one of the basic tenets of Organized Play is that public tables are open to all, first come, first served.

Greetings and welcome Tessara!

As you've already found, Warhorn is a pretty great place to start looking for games (even online ones, make sure and add 'online' into your search there), if you're at all interested in Play by Post groups (usually listd as 'PbP) you can find a lot of those on the Paizo forums (Here for Pathfinder 1, here for Pathfinder 2, and here for Starfinder). There are also plenty of games run in real time on virtual tabletops (Roll20, Foundry, Fantasy Grounds and D20 Pro being the most popular, commonly called 'VTT's) that you can find on some of the Online regions discord lodges (discord is a text and voice chat program that a lot of us use to game and can be downloaded here).

You can find what is probably the most populous discord server and the main lodge for VTTs here; Organised Play Online

There is also an online PbP lodge (often using the play by discord format) here; Roll for Combat

There are also some other excellent VTT lodges who are primarily focused on Starfinder but you can also find some Pathfinder games and some PbP games on them as well! First we have the; Cosmic Crittermanders and there is also the Starfinder Nexus.

And another VTT lodge that has grown from the Glass Canon Podcast, which plays Starfinder & Pathfinder, here! The Glass Canon Community

If you decide to give us a look you can find me on the Organised Play Online discord under the nickname 'Stunt Monkey', there are of course plenty of other people who are super helpful that you'll find on them. Best of luck finding somewhere to call home!
