With normal scatter weapons that require multiple attack rolls for each target, there is a clear specification that Vital Strike does not work with it. The X-Laser only requires a single attack roll and doesn't even have the scatter property, so RAW it seems unclear.
Please my GM and I keep arguing about this and I want my 15d6 tell her she's wrong.
Vital strike is specifically one attack, not one attack roll applied to multiple targets. You probably can't use vital strike on everyone in a line using an x-laser. OTOH with a single target go nuts.
