Arboreal Sapling Throw rock questions

Rules Discussion

Hello everyone,

I have some questions about the Arboreal Sapling Animal companion within the Advanced Players guide.

It's advanced maneuver is a ranged rock attack that does a base amount of damage and that is all it mentions. My question is does this move scale and if so what does it go off of as the only proficiency that the creature gets is for unarmed attacks.

I'm pretty sure it's intended to scale as unarmed, though it does strain the definition of "unarmed" in the individual Animal Companion rules.

Yep, the way it's written, it's clearly a weapon attack but that's mean a no proficiency, no damage increases, ect.

And what happens if the rock has Magic Stone cast on it or is magic ammo for a sling? What if it's a Thunderstone? Is it a missile for things like Bracers of Missile Deflection and Arrow-Catching Shield?

And it uses an interact action for the rocks. Interact: "You use your hand or hands to manipulate an object or the terrain." So this animal companion HAS HANDS!
