Scroll Savant and Temporary Potions: Free to craft or full price upfront and unable to resell

Rules Discussion

https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=652 and https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=1580 are both created as temporary items during your daily preparations. They have no value. Are they free to craft?

I interpreted it as them being free to craft.

That's true of the wizard feat, which says they work like scrolls and doesn't say anything about crafting. But the Witch feat says it works like crafting except as noted, and it doesn't say anything about waiving the material costs you have to provide.

My interpretation: As they have no value, there is no Material Cost (because, for example, the upfront material cost would be equal to half their final value of 0).

Likely just a target for the FAQ as half of nothing is still nothing.

**EDIT**

After reviewing the crafting rules, this is correct. Since you are required to supply half of the item's price, and the item has no value (which is what a price is derived from), it costs nothing to craft.
