Adventure Module and AP Locale Request Thread

Liberty's Edge

As noted in the Adventure Seminar for Gen Con Online the Paizo team asked us to chime in regarding what locations of Golarian are popular and we want to see supported through future releases.

I personally asked about materials that take the party on adventures through the Mana Wastes and Alkenstar because of the unique effects of the anti-magic and warped magic effects of the area as I think it can be a good opportunity to tell some stories that are grounded in more technological and industrial regions as well as presenting an opportunity for interesting sub-systems that prohibit, suppress, or corrupt spellcasting.

With that being said, that's just my opinion so I wanted to see if there were opinions of others here regarding regions that haven't been utilized for much, if at all for adventure modules or APs.

Where do YOU want to explore?

Personally, I'm a fan of the Pit of Gormuz, Nidal, Azlant, and the crown of the world. Oh and Basrakal would be a nice place to visit.

Mana Wastes/Alkenstar. The Mwangi Expanse. Southern Garund. Numeria. Anywhere in Arcadia (and this is my loudest vote). Almost anywhere in Tian Xia.

Give me anything that gets us out of Avistan*, whether it's more diverse inspirations or getting into The Weird Stuff.

*EDIT: Yes I know I said Numeria, but I actually forgot the one place I really wanna see: the Sarkoris Scar. The narrative of the Sarkorians is the most compelling thing on that continent to me.

I'd really like to see more of the Mana Wastes! Exploring how technology has replaced magic in these societies and how it might have shifted expected cultural norms while dealing with all manners of aberrations sounds like a cool experience. Plus, gunpowder and steampunk.

I might be alone in this but I'd really like to see Kyonin again, to see how it ends up portrayed compared to its appearence in Second Darkness, where kyoni elves instead of whimsical and individualistic came off a little more, hmmm, jerkish. I think that a lot of people didn't like them, and to be honest I'm never quite sure how to describe kyoni culture, so I'd appreciate a fresh insight in the form of an adventure! Also, the whole Treerazer thing is such an easy and evocative hook!

Geb. Or the Gravelands, but mostly Geb. I mean — c'mon! Zombies and evil wizards! The idea of having to carefully navigate such an alien society is really cool. Plus we get to explore a very thematic location!

There's a good few adventures that happen in Ustalav already, but gothic horror kinda is an easy sell, right? And Ustalav is so appropriate for that!

Razmiran! Cultists and a very evil wizard! The idea of having to carefully navigate such an alien society is really cool. Plus we get to explore a very thematic location! ... x)

Qadira? Has any AP or standalone adventure gone there before? I don't think so, right? Qadira is such an important place to the Inner Sea that it's a little weird that we've never been there before, and it sounds really magical.

I'm also super up for anywhere in Arcadia, or over the Crown of the World, and especially somewhere in Tian Xia... And Casmaron! Specifically if the adventure starts there.

What else, what else? Oh, I really like the idea of playing an all-orc party in Belkzen. Though having a chance to interact with the region considering the current predicament that they are facing sounds cool regardless.

Mana Wastes definitely. The mutant filled weird magic wasteland is too underutilized inner sea location :p

Of note, with the exception of Alkenstar/Mana Wastes, we either have gone or will soon be going to almost every locale mentioned in this thread as part of our scenarios, quests, and bounties, including but not limited to Numeria (twice so far), the Crown of the World (the new bounty Whitefang Wyrm is set here and revisits some NPCs last visited in Season 9 for Death on the Ice), Arcadia (coming soon!), the Gravelands, the Mwangi Expanse, parts of Garund beyond the Inner Sea map, Razmiran, and Qadira.

So another way to make the point that we should do more stuff in these locals is to buy the smaller adventures that travel to these places and tell us what you liked and what you want more of in a review!

Well okay, how about adventure in Castrovel playing Lashuntas or Elves or Triaxus playing Triaxians? ;D

There are two entire continents that have plenty of room for cool, new things that I'd like to see more details on. Anything in either Arcadia or Casmaron would be fantastic to flesh those out more. We know so much about the Inner Sea region at this point.

The product page isn't up yet, but on stream we announced that Luis Loza is the author of Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-04: Path of Kings, where the Pathfinders will be sailing across the Arcadian Ocean! This was actually pretty fun, because Luis, myself, and Adam Daigle got to sit down and start putting names and markers on the Arcadia portion of the Golarion world map, so it's going to be some of the more concrete pieces of information we've established about Arcadia to date, and it'll help open the door to explore even more of the continent.

I said this in another thread, but I want stuff that goes to Akiton and Castroval. I just want to play a campaign that can really be airbrushed on the side of a van.

Also as I've been saying in every five or 4 ap threads, we need more Casmaron material ;P I wanna know how politics of Inner Sea -> Casmaron <- Tian Xia work

Arcadia: Land of Northern Lakes

Avistan: Ravounel, Realm of the Mammoth Lords, Sarkoris Scar

Casmaron: Kelesh Empire, Vudra

Garund: Droon, Geb, Holomog, Mana Wastes, Nantambu, Nex, Thuvia

Tian Xia: Dtang Ma, Shaguang

I love a Daemon themed AP.
With something that revels more info on The Bound Prince.

As well as a Kyonin AP to defeat Treerazor.

Silver Crusade

@Prince,

Spoiler for current/upcoming APs:
The main antagonist of Agents of Edgewatch has Daemonic backing, how deep that goes/will be explored remains to be seen.

Well, folks, I am calling it now, it isn't confirmed officially yet but with Guns & Gears being the next big splatbook after SoM I think that my wish for an Alkenstar/Mana Wastes/Geb v Nex Adventure Path is probably a safe bet for an AP product since the newly announced G&G is EXACTLY the kind of thing you'd need to set the scene and provide rules support for this kind of adventure.

Paizo team, I know you probably can't say anything about this since it's still not public but just let me say thank you. Many of us fans have been drooling at the prospect of getting a full-blown AP set in this area given how unique the region is and how ripe it is for development.

Our playtest group will play lvl 9 a couple of sessions in the Mana Waste, so I'm definitely taking this as a way to test if a Mana Waste AP would be fun/doable. We are not taking a lot of Magic items beyond fundamental runes, and it was interesting making a non-magical gnome, but I can't wait (first session tomorrow).
I missed that thread but had I seen it, I would have been in that first burst calling for a Mana Waste AP/adventures. :3
