FYI - I was just at the local hobby/comic shop and I noticed Dungeon 148 was already on the stands.
For my fellow Michganders and for those non-subscribers there were 3 copies left at the Comic City in Canton, Michigan.
Yes, I also notice that the demon lords entry in Wikipedia had already been updated with names from that issue. Obviously somebody else had gotten it already!

Argh! And here I went to Borders on Ford near Southfield.
Oh well, try, try again.Maybe I'll stop in at Pandamonium in Garden City today, as my subscription ironically ran dry with the last issue featuring Sehan, and then I find out I got me some webbirdy goodness in this one.

My local shop always cheats and throws it in the window ahead of schedule...I just wish I knew how he gets his copies before me; I should ask him, but I don't want to put him on the spot. Do shops get their books, etc. UPS and FedEX, et al? USPS is my downfall all the way around (in these regards).
At about the same time that the printer sends out subscription copies, they ship boxes or pallets (depending on the size) to hobby, book, and newsstand distributors. Those distributors then divide up and ship or deliver copies to each retailer, ideally arriving shortly before the newsstand release date. If they arrive early, they're supposed to be held, but there's really not much we can do about it if they're not.
