Obtaining gear in PFS2e

How do you get a +1 striking weapon in PFS2e? Can you purchase it when you have reached level 4, or do you need to have it on your chronicle sheet?

You can purchase any common item up to your level (minimum 2). If you want to buy gear of a higher level you must either wait or find it on a chronicle.

Fo example, if you were level 3 and your chronicle had a +1 striking katana on it you could not buy a +1 striking rune. You could buy a +1 striking katana and then pay to transfer the rune to your preferred weapon.

At level 4 you could just buy any +1 striking weapon you had access to.

So, I could buy a +1 gnome flickmace when I am level 2 and at level 4 ask to add a striking rune on it at the Pathfinder Lodge without any of them being on a chronicle?

Just re-read the rules and realised - as there is rune scribing at the lodge it should work. Still have all the PFS1e rules in my head, so confusing. I guess it is time for a +1 gnome flickmace at lvl3 and next lvl improve it to striking.

Yes, you have it right assuming you have access to the flickmace somehow as it is uncommon.
