Hi there, my group will be finishing Crimson Throne soon, and we're looking for a new campaign. Our finalists are WotR and Azlant.
Maybe you can tell me about Wrath:
- how is the fights/RP balance?
- How linear is the story? Lots of small missions, or more straightforward?
- is it really impossible to balance? (I have some experience with adjusting stats on the fly)
- do I need to rewrite much?
- Other things I/we should know about this AP?
Thanks in advance!

In Book 1, 2, and 4 I feel like you're going to get more RP in general. The NPCs in Wrath are very good and lots of fun to play around with. One thing I've enjoyed is portraying so many varieties of Lawful Good. The party is often surrounded by paladins of various stripes, so you get to try different ways of expressing that alignment.
The story is largely straightforward. Book 3 has hexploration as its primary mechanic and Book 4 has a city 30 miles across so there's not a lot of set order there. But unless the PCs fail (which they won't, because mythic) you'll find that the next plot advancement is fairly linear.
It won't be bad at the start. And it depends on what the players bring to the table. The things that are powerful in regular play are still powerful in mythic, and even more so. What I've found is that knowing the action economy of Mythic is going to be the key to actually keeping it somewhat even keel. You will have to know the swift and immediate action rules pretty well, and keep track of them. But overall, probably not. I've learned to just accept it.
For rewriting the plot? Probably not, aside from the encounter with Iomedae in book 5 that received a lot of criticism. Rewriting the encounters? Yeah. You will. Almost all the encounters will need to be rewritten to some degree or another. I just skip a lot of encounters. Put a lot of effort into fewer encounters instead of trying to buff every encounter.
The AP has a great story with fun NPCs and takes you to really cool places. I enjoy running it for my group, but as their mythic power increases (and I won't cut it short because Level 20/Mythic 10 was a selling point for them) How much I care about any one fight they get into is...less.
Stuff to also know back and front: How you handle Protection from Evil's immunity to mind control clause. Do the research, pick an answer and make that the way its handled.
Also, if you have a ranger, ban Instant Enemy. And maybe insist on Outsider (Demon) instead of Outsider (Evil)
