Leaping out from hiding, you assail your target when they least expect it. You Stride up to your Speed, but you must end your movement next to an enemy you’re hidden from or undetected by. You then Strike that enemy; you remain hidden from or undetected by that creature until after you Strike. You can use Spring from the Shadows while Burrowing, Climbing, Flying, or Swimming instead of Striding if you have the corresponding movement type.

Since you don't necessarily know if you are hidden from or undetected by a given foe (your relevant stealth check is secret), what happens if you try to use this feat but you are actually observed by your selected target?

Offhand, I'm guessing it just become a normal stride action if you fail to meet the 'at end of movement' criteria (you end up at the same location, but without getting the strike), but I'm curious what other people think about this possibility (please note that my own 'guess' has no actual basis in the rules).

I read it as being a normal Stride if you are wrong about having been hidden from or undetected by the enemy you have ended up next to.

Kind of hard to be more clear about being able to Stride, but having to end adjacent to an enemy, and getting to retain the benefits of being hidden or undetected if you had them for that enemy while getting to Strike without using a lot more word count.

I severely doubt that the intent would be for a GM to say "you can't use that action" when a player says they want to instead, and that seems like the only other way to apply the stated requirement in the feat.
