Practiced Medic boon

This boon for Radiant Oath says you practice your medicine skills during downtime. Is that just time spent to activate the boon, or are you actually using Medicine for your Earn Income? I couldn't tell from reading it if you're giving up the opportunity to earn income while you activate the boon.

No it is time spent to active the boon. Several of the faction boons are written in this manner where the character gives up money to get some other benefit.

It seems pretty clear to me. No where in the boon does it talk about earning income, just expending days of downtime.

Bummer. Seems like a double whammy to spend the fame, lose the money, and have a one-use item for it. Thanks for the info!

It is pretty powerful by increasing the success level by one. And you don't expend the boon if you rolled a crit on the Medicine check.

Could make those expert DC20 checks a little less troublesome.

And Earned Income does not add that much wealth to the character. It helps but is not a deal breaker.

You can acquire this boon at level 1, and at levels 1 and 2 the likely income from the 8 days it takes to prep the boon is 40 copper, meaning the first 3 of these you acquire cost 1 Fame and 40 copper each, which is a very good deal. The fact that the completed Boon is slotless means it keeps value throughout the career of the character, even if you make them early.
