I'm trying to wrap my head around the Eidolon STR/DEX bonus.
My son is playing a Serpentine type Eidolon at level 10.
It now has the Large evolution.
It's starting scores are STR 12, DEX 16, CON 13, INT 7, WIS 10, and CHA 11
At level 10, it's supposed to add a total of +4 to STR/DEX stats.
It's now has the large evolution too, so it gains +2 STR and -2 DEX.
It also gained 2 Ability Score Increases at level 5 & 10.
He put one point into STR and one into CON
Based on my math, the Eidolon should have 19 STR and 18 DEX.
However, when I try to make an eidolon on any of the free generators out there, it tries to add wild amounts to his STR and DEX.
PCGEN for example, tries to add +6 / +6
PCGEN is setting his stats to STR 24!!? Why?
What am I missing?

Just about everything here is wrong.
The Large evolution grants the stat bonuses that it says that it grants. The bonus to Str is not +2 -- it is either +4 or +8, depending on whether you are using the unchained or standard summoner. And either way, you left out the Con bonus.
And the Str/Dex bonus column involves no choices -- you add the indicated number to both Str and Dex.
So my best guess for how PCGen is setting the Str score would be 12 (base) +4 (level) +8 (Large evolution for eidolon of standard summoner) = 24, with the ability score increases for level still unassigned.

Yup. I don't know where you got your Large modifiers but they're wrong.
Oh wait, did you perhaps take the enlarge spell? It is a very different beast, with no relevance when it comes to the evolution.
The evolution tells you what it does, no need to look further.
There are many ways to get things to Large size, with different effects, and they are not interchangeable.
And that's your whole thing. Correct that, and you're good.
24 Str is correct (12+4+8), for a "chained" eidolon - although it should be 25 if you put an Ability score increase in there.
