Assurance Athletics

Rules Discussion

If a Wild Druid uses assurance athletics for Trip let's say, and it says in the dino form spell a +18 athletics modifier, how would that work?

(I hope I don't get any replies saying you can't grapple or trip due to 'One or more unarmed melee attacks specific to the battle form you choose, which are the only attacks you can use')

Assuming a form that doesn't prevent the attempt they would get a result of 10+their proficiency, and their Athletics bonus with wild shape would be irrelevant.

Not the whole truth as their wild shape's size increase would at least determine the size of the enemy that can be tripped.

I didn't say their size would be irrelevant. I said their wild shaped athletics bonus would. The size limits of trip and grapple are a different question than whether assurance interacts with wild shape's numbers.

Ok, maybe I read this wrong, but I guess we are on the same page.

Please remember that Assurance Athletics/Trip is 10+proficiency, no modifications whatsoever. Which means that it can be used as a third action/strike without the -10... but 10+proficiency is usually insufficient to trip an opponent unless his level is 2 or more less than yours.
