Access to Uncommon Weapons

Rules Discussion

I may have missed something, and there is always GM fiat, but how does a PC gain access to uncommon weapons with no Race Trait or Region connection? The Unconventional Weaponry Human Ancestry feat doesn't seem to cover the Spiked Chain, Kukri and Sawtooth Sabre. So is it just down to the GM and a good background reason?

You can gain access to those three specific weapons by being a Cleric or Champion whose deity has them as a favored weapon.

In general, though, permission from the GM would be the path. That said: Uncommon should probably be treated as reasonably available in many cases. Uncommon things are around. They just require a bit of effort to get.

Thought so, thanks

You can also just hunt down whoever typically uses those items.

Society scenarios, for example, are good at handing out things like katanas and bolas when you encounter foes that wield them.
