hands autonomy checks

Rules Questions

Hello!

I dont understand this feat https://www.d20pfsrd.com/feats/general-feats/hand-s-autonomy/

Hand can use some skill (perception for example) when PC sleep? Or Knowledge when PC paralyzed?

I think yes, hand can. "When you are unconscious, paralyzed, asleep, or stunned, your possessed hand can still act on your behalf in a limited fashion. The hand uses your statistics when performing any action in this manner"

But next confused me "The hand can attempt any of the following skill checks at a –4 penalty: Disable Device, Escape Artist, Heal, Sleight of Hand, or Use Magic Device."

I think the hand could make a perception check when you are asleep. The list of skills probably isn’t an exhaustive list, and just a list of the skills that take a penalty. And the hand can apparently sense the world around it, since It can make attacks without penalty. The hand would still have to take an action to wake you though.

But expect table variation. The feat isn’t PFS legal, probably because it is hard to interpret.
