Alchemist Advanced Alchemy Leveling

I'm wondering about Advanced Alchemy. Do the formulas scale up as you level up?

Example:
You're 1st Level and you get Lesser Alchemist’s Fire formula. At level 3 does the formula automatically increase to the moderate version or do you have to take the Moderate Alchemist’s Fire formula as one of the two formulas you get as you level.
