The Hidden Truth as the Hour

Rules Questions and Gameplay Discussion

The Hour Power says: "The first time you examine cards this turn, heal 1d4-1 cards."

The "you" applies to each person who examines cards - but is the "first time" global or for each player?

I assume it's for each player who examines this turn, since wording.

(This turned up this week and I just happened to have an examine power off turn.)

I would say it's indeed for each character. That's how "you" works for each Blessing as far as I know.

Yep, hour powers work on the same logic as Scenario and Adventure Powers, or anything else directly in the Storybook. When they say "You", they mean every character it could directly apply to.

Like if a scenario power said "When you encounter a story bane from a location, summon and encounter Lamm's Lamb" would apply even if you encountered a story bane off-turn.

The way it’s worded, it’s the first time for each character that turn. It’s not “first time cards are examined this turn,” it’s “first time you examine cards.”

So if multiple characters can examine off-turn, they each can benefit from the power once.
