Looks like a typo. I think the correct line would be:
Size: Large
Space: 10ft. Reach 5ft.
My reasons: it's introduced as a mount, and mounts are generally a size bigger than riders. There's no indication that they're only mounts for small creatures. Also, they're listed as Large animals.
The "space 5ft reach 5ft" bit is clearly an error because the standard layout for medium creatures doesn't include that. Space is only included in statblocks if it's different from 5ft.
Reach is probably still 5ft because quadrupeds generally have lower reach than their square size.
TL;DR - their space should be 10ft, the rest of the statblock is correct.

Yeah I figured it was a typo, I imagine they don't have any plans for an errata anytime soon though.

Based on historical experience with reprints of bestiaries, I wouldn't hold my breath.

You can deduce all you want but in society, until it gets clarified in the FAQ, It's a large creature that only takes up 5ft space with a 5 foot reach. In a home game you can resize it all you want.
Expecting every single book to meet this overly legalistic standard of quality control is unreasonable, at least if you expect them to actually produce a reasonable amount of content each year. Maybe you only care about Society play, and a book that isn't Society usable is useless to you. . . but conversely, all the people who *don't* play Society lose out if they only get one ( Society-certified ) supplement rather than two.

Expecting to get an official answer about a player option that can be read in very different ways, with a large impact on game play is not, and never has been, unreasonable.

Right now we are at RAW: Ysakajas are large creatures that occupy 5 ft. square - so my SF character rides on a 5 ft. yasakaja.
If it ever gets corrected by Errata or AR, the creature will pop to a 10 ft. square size and I'll have to squeeze through corridors on it. Though I imagine I'll have purchased something better by then.
