Quick Question about Monks and Stances

Rules Discussion

Hello, new Monk player here. So, in the 1st level monk feats, it has multiple stances, but it also has Monastic Weaponry. In the Monastic Weaponry feat, it states that you can use Monk weapons as “unarmed strikes” when called for. I understand this is meant to apply to Ki-related attacks and Flurry of Blows, but could you possibly use monk weapons for Stance-exclusive strikes? Obviously not Crane Stance or Mountain Stance, since those specifically state that you can’t do that. But could you use monk weapons for, say, the Tiger Stance strike?

The short answer is no. The longer answer is no because stance attacks are their own independent "weapons" as far as the game system is concerned and they are part of the Brawling group.

You could make attacks with Monk weapons while in Tiger stance, but they wouldn't be Tiger Claw attacks. They would be attacks with said Monk weapon.
