Tremorsense and monsters

Rules Discussion

There are some monsters in the Bestiary and in the Fall of Plaguestone adventure who have: Perception +6, tremorsense (imprecise) 30 feet.

Does that mean that I should give these monsters/plants a 50 % miss chance (DC 11 Flat check?). But that would also then indicate that these monsters/plants are blind.

There are some other monsters, like Oozes, which state: Perception +8, motion sense 60, no vision. So?

The funny thing is that a GM from "Roll for Combat" contacted some of Paizo's developers regarding this, and they all said that! Hey they are blind and have impresise tremor sense! So DC 11 flat check :) But the GM still thought it was odd and inconclusive. So he then contacted (Lead developer Paizo) Mark Siefter, and he said back to him that every creature "has normal vision" unless it sais (no vision) lol

What do you think? Any clue?

Thanks in advance.

Motion Sense would be a precise sense, so no Flat check for them. Edit: That is for the oozes. Not Tremorsense. Those are specifically "Imprecise" so act as Imprecise senses, with all the penalties therein.

I agree with Mark on this one (it would be silly not to). Oozes set a precedent for needing a "no vision" clause to avoid creatures all having regular sight. So any creature with a stat block that read:

Perception X, Tremorsense (Imprecise) 30 feet.

Would also have regular sight. Like the Purple Worm. The Purple Worm even has Darkvision, which sorta implies it has regular eyesight of some form.

Wait, he didn't like the answer he got so he went to another developer to get the answer he wanted, just like little kids sometimes do with their parents?

I call shenanigans! No wonder they so seldomly answer our questions anymore!

To be fair, he originally got the wrong answer.

I agree, I just worry about the potential ramifications of people doing things like that, then spreading it around public forums making Paizo look undeservedly incompetent.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the default assumption is that creatures have the typical senses of a human being unless it specifies otherwise, which is also how the CRB addresses stealth and senses as I recall. But it isn't shocking if that gets messed up sometimes.
