What about item bonuses? If I'm wearing +1 resilient explorer's clothing, does my familiar get +1 to AC and saves as well? Or is it just not mentioned because it's obvious that creatures that don't have items don't benefit from item bonuses?

A bit further down in the same paragraph it says

Quote:
It doesn’t have or use its own ability modifiers and can never benefit from item bonuses.

I kinda took this to cover both item bonuses that would otherwise be from items it has and any that would otherwise be transferred to it from other sources. For example, if I fed my familiar a Beastial mutagen I wouldn’t grant it the item bonus from that either.

*scratches head*

Not sure how I missed that. Thanks!

And, sadly, this rule prevents Familiars from benefiting from Mage Armor.
