Hi, first time Starfinder player. I've really got it in my head that a Shatori xenoarchaeologist seems cool, with their built in psychometry ability and whatnot. I don't really know what kinda character options might be good to make one. We're starting at level 1 and have a biohacker, a mechanic, and an envoy in the party. Thanks for the help.

It looks like your party is a bit light on spellcasting, so I think that a Technomancer might be a good fit for your character concept. Your Shatori xenoarchaeologist could be interested in seeing how their brand of modern magic interfaces with the technology of ancient civilizations, and possibly even influenced its development.

Thanks! What would be a good theme to finish it off? I know scholar probably works but I don't think it's theme knowledge applies to archaeology. And for skills, I know culture and profession ( archaeology) are a must, but would any other skills be important for a budding alien indiana jones?

I'm playing a Xenoarcheologist Operative in the Dead Suns AP (currently around Book 2) and I'm having a blast.
I think a lot of classes can fit in the theme rather easily (still scratching my head at a Xenoarchelogist Soldier though). I'd first look at classes that either have a lot of skill points to go around or are scientifically/mechanically inclined - so Technomancer is probably a nice addition to your party.
Synergising your class specialties and the theme is really great from a roleplay point of view, in my opinion. So having a species that also contributes to the archeologist feel is a nice way to go.
