Summoner's Robe

Rules Questions

What exactly falls under "defenses and powers" granted by the Summoner's Robe? The description isn't exactly crystal clear.

It is pretty clear what it *doesn't* grant. It doesn't change your size, appearance, movement, natural attacks, ability score modifiers.

But what *does* it grant? Lets take the elemental for example (since they're probably the least varied).

I absorb a... Water Elemental. Do I get the Natural Armor? Darkvision? Immunity to bleed/crits/sneaks? Vortex ability? Should I assume that unless it's listed among the things I *don't* get, then I *do* get it?

it appears pretty explicit. In this case,

Lady Asharah, have you read the polymorph rules? CRB pg. 211f, or otherwise here.

Most of the things there are overruled by the Robe, here's the important part: "[E]ach polymorph spell can grant you a number of other benefits, including movement types, resistances, and senses. If the form you choose grants these benefits, or a greater ability of the same type, you gain the listed benefit. If the form grants a lesser ability of the same type, you gain the lesser ability instead."

You don't get movement types, and you don't chose a form (instead you use the creature you'd have summoned), but otherwise, you follow these rules, using the spell listed in the Robe's description.

Sounds like Natural Armor and Vortex/Whirlwind is in then.

While you don't take a form of Water/Air elemental, that form isn't actually a prerequisite to use the ability.
