When playing a barbarian in Pathfinder 2E, does taking Fury instinct immediately give you Raging Resistance or must you still wait until level 9?

When playing a barbarian in Pathfinder 2E, does taking Fury instinct immediately give you Raging Resistance or must you still wait until level 9?

------------------------

On page 87, there are many different Instincts we can pick for our barbarian; “Giant Instinct”, “Spirit Instinct” and “Fury Instinct”, just to name a few.

If we select Fury Instinct for our character, we gain 3 benefits:

1. Anathema and Instinct Ability
2. Specialization Ability
3. Raging Resistance

I realize that Raging Resistance is also offered at 9th level as a Class Feature on page 85.

It would appear that since Raging Resistance is listed in two seperate places; as a Class Feature and as one third of an Instinct, there must be two different ways to gain Raging Resistance: Either selecting it as an Instinct at any level or waiting until 9th level and gaining it as a Class Feature.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Every instinct has an entry for raging resistance. It doesn't give you the class feature early, it just tells you what damage types the class feature applies to.

Every Instinct gets Raging Resistance at lvl 9.
