Damage to Undead from Lay On Hands

Rules Discussion

Quick question, is it possible to critically succeed with an offensive use of Lay On Hands against an undead? The rules state that the undead makes a basic fortitude save, but that only seems to be covering whether or not the undead takes a debuff to ac. So is it possible to double damage when using Lay on Hands offensively?

When the rules call for a "basic" save, that is always referring to the results of critical success = no damage, success = 1/2 damage, failure = full damage, and critical failure = double damage.

Even when a spell also adds an additional effect besides damage that happens on one of those results.

This was done so that spells like lay on hands, daze, and many others can be just the few lines of text that they are instead of having to add on a spelled-out list of results like you would find on a spell like color spray.
