JuJu Mystery Oracle Cast Animate Dead level 1?

Good day,

Long time reader, first time posting..

Creating a level 1 JuJu Mystery Oracle. Want to take the "Spirit Vessels Revelation"

"Spirit Vessels (Su): You can channel wendo spirits into lifeless bodies, reanimating them to aid you. When using the animate dead spell, you can control 6 HD worth of undead creatures per caster level rather than 4 HD. In addition, any zombies or juju zombies you create using animate dead, create undead, or similar spells possess maximum hit points."

Can a level 1 JuJu Oracle cast animate dead? (which is a lvl 3 spell)

Ive seen a few builds and they take the "Spirit Vessels Revelation" right off the bat.

It doesn't actually accelerate your access to those spells or abilities, no. My best guess is that the guides advise taking it there due to a lack of other useful or optimal revelations, allowing you to use your higher-level revelation slots for better revelations you couldn't select at 1st level; but that's simply a guess. It's been some time since I've tinkered with a juju oracle. ^_^

No it cannot cast Animate Dead at level 1 (without additional help anyway).
Interestingly, the version of Juju mystery on the offical Archive is substantially different and doesn't even have Spirit Vessels revelation. There are quite a few things different, and it looks like the version you linked to is the version from the Adventure Path: City of Seven Spears and the one on Archive is from the Pathfinder Player Companion:Faiths and Philosophies (which came out later and is the updated official source).

Thanks, yeah, thats what I thought. I guess take "Undead Servitude revelation" and use bonus Command Undead feat to fish for undead till lvl 6 eh? lol

While a 1st level oracle is get access to his own 3rd level spells, there are ways that he can cast higher level spells. The easiest would be to use a wand. Also the revelation states it works on similar spells so it should work with lesser animate dead. That spell is still higher than a 1st level oracle can cast but you can take it at 3rd level.
