A Question about fighter feats and weapon traits

Rules Discussion

Hi guys, I have some problems in how to interpret how certain rules work together.

For example, I take the Disarming Twist Class Feat of the Fighter.
It´s prequesite say: You are wielding only a single one-handed melee weapon and have your other hand or hands free.

Now, I have a Weapon with the Disarm Trait.
which says: You can use this weapon to Disarm with the Athletics skill even if you don’t have a free hand

Does this mean to fulfill the requirements for the Disarming Trust I could just use one one-handed weapon with the disarm trait (since this would cancel out the need for a free hand in such a case)?

In addition, how far would that go? Would I have to use 2 weapons (with one of them the disarm weapon that just replaces the free hand or does the disarm weapon directs check all 2 boxes and i could do whatever with the second hand? (use a shield for example)

It´s just a little unclear for me, so help would be apprechiated

Those two rules don't work together. The disarming weapon trait affects your ability to use the athletics action "disarm". It does not affect the prequisites of your stance.

Yeah, the disarm trait doesn't affect the Fighter class feat.

You still have to meet the requirements to use it, regardless of what traits the weapon has.

Okay, that´s good to know, thanks
