Bugbear tormentor wearing the wrong armor?

Given the sneaky and ambush tactics of bugbears, shouldn't this creature be wearing studded leader instead of chain shirts. The noisy trait, especially with the announcement that the errata for that trait gives the armor check penelty to stealth rolls didn't make since to me and I changed the armor type on the door in my game last night.

It's only a -1 penalty, not a big deal. I'd also assume the Bugbear simply ignores the penalty (since he's not a PC) or it is already included in his stats. So it's hard to tell if giving him Studded Leather would actually do anything to improve his Stealth Score.

That being said, there is very little reason to ever use a Chain Shirt over a Studded Leather armor to begin with. I can only think characters with Strength 10 and Chain Shirts made from special materials. Barring those cases, the Studded Leather is superior.

Maybe a chain shirt is easier for the bugbear to put on in the morning? No straps or seperate pieces, just like shrugging on a slightly weighty poncho.
