Any good reason to limit inspired magical enchantment

Advice

Trying to figure out if there is a good reason that the Inspired weapon enchantment is limited only to simple weapons, hand crossbows, rapiers, shortbows, short swords, and sword canes?

Any thoughts on why this should be enforced at a table?

It's probably that way because those are the weapons investigators are proficient with by default. I don't think it'd break anything to allow it on other weapons, though getting twice the damage bonus on an already strong weapon (e.g., butchering axe) would be pretty nice.
