High Level Ancestry Feats

Pathfinder Second Edition General Discussion

Am I missing something?

I see only one 13th level ancestry feat, and no 17th level ancestry feats at all. Are these set to come in future books or...?

You can always take a lower level feat of the same type. And there probably will be higher level ancestry feats in future books as well.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

The upcoming Lost Omens Character Guide includes "nearly 100 new ancestry feats" according to its blurb - odds are that some of those will be higher level, though as has already been pointed out not every level that a feat can be taken needs to have feats assigned to specifically that level.

...and since it's pretty hard (for me, at least) to think of much that makes sense as an ancestry-based feature but also shouldn't be able to come into play prior to 13th or 17th level, I'm glad there are only a few ancestry feats gated to those levels.

I get the sense that many of the ancestry feats to come are going to be specific to cultures. The ones in the CRB are for "aspects you can find in all of the cultures which have these people". Whereas future ancestry feats can differentiate between "if you're an Elf whose people are from Kyonin, here is something that represents what Kyonin elves are like (while Ekujae, Jinin, Snowcasters, and the Elves of the Mordant spire will have access to different feats.)

Since, after all ancestry feats are for the most part "what you have learned from your culture" so those should vary from culture to culture.
