Does the -2 to hit apply to Ranged Spell Combat as the rules states -2 fir melee weapons

There was some small confusion on this for a time, and some misinformation going around about it, because when the Pathfinder PC game was released the eldritch archer class archetype apparently had a bug that it didn't take the negative to hit from Spell Combat, but it's supposed to. Just to clarify why I think this keeps coming up
