Shields - Boss & Spikes on same shield?

Quick question for you all.

Can you put a boss and spikes on the same shield? One of my player's says yes but I'm not so sure.

Basically we're quibbling over the word "or" from the attacking with a shield section on pg 277 of the core rulebook. The pertinent sentence (to me) is "You can also buy and attach a shield boss or shield spikes to a shield to make it a more practical weapon.

"Or" should make it clear you can have one OR the other. Not both. That would require different phrasing.

I agree that's it's "either or" not "and."

Why would you want both? However, it's not really game breaking to give the player what he wants. All it does is change the type of damage from bludgeoning to piercing. Big deal. Very few monsters are vulnerable to piercing, while a fair amount don't like bludgeoning.

The B is clearly the superior letter to have after the damage die. Piercing is the least valuable even if spikes do look cool.
