Online based sessions, DMPC style, advice on how to make it better?

Curious if people had some good experiences and things they wish they thought of before they started on their DMPC sessions.

Make links/write down notes of where certain items/NPCs/Areas first appear so they're easier to reference back to.

Will do. Luckily google docs are really great for that kind of thing.

Also keep a listing of what all Knowledge checks Players have succeeded on, so they don't have to keep rolling every time they run into a ghoul.

I used to do a lot of freeform back in the day when it was popular, and that was kind of DMPC vibes since everyone involved took part in forming the setting and what not, usually with one taking more lead than others, so kind of curious if this would work with a tabletop game.

Plus it's not easy finding gm/games with time differences and such online.
