AC bonus from weapon parry works against missile / ranged?

Rules Discussion

Hello,

I don't see anywhere the limitation of the rule on the parry bonus AC. Does that mean that we can deflect arrows, bolts and some other projectile with our weapons? Like thrown rock from the giant?

Seems like it. The game treats all AC the same, no matter against what.

I'm not even sure I've seen any effects that give AC specifically against certain tpes of effects at all. At least I can't think of any right now.

Yup, although realistically it is only a deflection/redirection of the attack for 1AC.

Although in PF1e & PF2e you can also block a Giant's boulder/club with a buckler so we should probably not go down the realism query path too far ;)

Yes, you are correct.

I guess I will make Geralt of Rivia then.

I played several years Traveller. It predisposes the game to RAI instead of RAW, as many rules are intentionally left somewhat vague. Since it's the opposite of the heroic style, a lot of interpretation on the moment goes in. I have to warm up to the more chess-like approach of Pathfinder 2E since many of the rules are most likely based on some sort of meta.
