This is for converting older material.

Has anyone figured the proper exchange rate for PF1 gold to PF2 silver?

A silver piece in PF2 is approximately a gold piece in for magical items and a silver piece for mundane items in PF1.

That doesn't quite work.

For example:
* - PF1 Longsword: 15 gold pieces (or 150 silver)
* - PF2 Longsword: 1 gold piece (or 10 silver)

But, it is not 1-1.
* - PF1 Rapier: 20 gold pieces (or 200 silver)
* - PF2 Rapier: 2 gold pieces (or 20 silver)

The Exchange

It appears that PF2 is about 1/20 - 1/40 of PF1 through levels until 13+

Difficulty is that CRB gives expected treasure (page 509) and replacement PC wealth (page 511). Given expectation that some spend will be used and not retained, used replacement PC

This is just my quick estimate so compare to others

Problem is that you should look at your income (1/20 - 1/40) and then compare your items as a % of income

Some items are actually cheaper, For example

Chain mail in PF1 was 150 (100% starting wealth)
Chain mail in PF2 is 6 (40% of starting wealth)

I think they changed the price of things more then just changing gp to sp.

Yes, they did.

But this was more about using older material - but I am finding this to be a frustrating part of conversion.

The Exchange

To be clear, I was using a GP:GP ratio NOT a GP:SP. In order to convert old material, you really need to use its % of wealth
