Command an Animal + Wild Shape / Polymorph

A question posed on Facebook led me here to help the user out. Can you Command an Animal while wild shaped/polymorphed?

My take: Because the auditory trait only requires you to make sounds, you can do this because your animal is trained to know your screech as a raptor (our example) means "go attack that guy."

If able, please go with RAW over anecdotal evidence, since that caused issues on said conversation.

You can. Nothing about the auditory trait requires actual language (that's the linguistic trait), and, generally speaking, polymorph/wildshape does not prevent you from making sounds (GM might argue you on things like plants or elementals though)
