Adamantine Armor Effects?

Rules Discussion

Browsing my new Core Rulebook now that I'm back from Gen Con, and upon reading the entry for Adamantine Armor it seems to not have any explicit effects other than increased hardness and HP. It just says, "Adamantine armor has a shiny, black appearance and is amazingly durable". Now, those increases to hardness, HP, and BT aren't nothing, but the rules specifically call out the fact that your armor will rarely be damaged. Is that really the only thing you're paying for if you buy adamantine armor, or am I missing something?

Sovereign Court

At the very basic, yeah that's all you get, a tougher and harder armor.

Some monsters in the bestiary can attack armor. There aren't many of them but they do exist and that's just the first bestiary.

Some of these effects range from just damage to armor directly, to giving the broken condition (usually related to armor hardness). Some monsters are sadly less kind when it comes to hurting your armor some ignore hardness, one monster so far I believe destroy armor on a critical hit (not broken, I mean destroy).

Shadow Lodge

As far as I can tell, adamantine does nothing, it's not even good for shields as the "sturdy shield" is both cheaper and better than an adamantine one.

A description of what each special material does is on p.578

Yup. Adamantine is cool looking armor that can take some extra damage. You might a get a bonus to intimidate people who know how bad-ass it is.

It can be enchanted to be more than just cool looking. Runes for the win!
