Continual Flame

Rules Discussion

Not sure if it's an error but RAW the only thing you got from heightening Continual Flame are increased material component costs...is that all?

Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Probably not an error, it gets very expensive but the only benefit of doing it is mostly the light vs darkness interaction.

Light spells counter dark spells, vice versa.

Ah well that makes sense
Now that I think of it, are higher level spells harder to dispell with ani-magic?

Dispel Magic is in all four types of list, it does use the counterattack mechanics.

A critical success allows you to counteract a spell 3 levels higher, regular success is up to 1 level higher.

So basic dispel magic can counteract level 3 spells and up to level 5 spells (if you get a critical success).

Heightening Dispel Magic is essentially mandatory to keep up with higher-level spells.
